About our data

Swing By lists playgrounds using information published by councils, park operators and membership organisations. Each playground shows where its details came from and when we last checked them.

Places marked "Unverified" have not been checked against an official source yet. Treat their details as a guide only.

Opening times can change and many parks lock their gates at dusk. Check before a long journey.

Safety: always check equipment before children use it. If something is broken or dangerous, report it to the council or operator, for example through FixMyStreet. In an emergency, call 999.

We don't use photos that show identifiable children.

Maps use OpenFreeMap tiles and data © OpenStreetMap contributors. Postcode lookups use postcodes.io, with data from Ordnance Survey and the ONS.

Nearest public toilets come from the Toilet Map (CC BY 4.0). We work out which toilets are closest to each playground; we don't change the Toilet Map's details. Baby change at a playground's own toilets comes from the council or operator, or from the Toilet Map where we say so.

Cookies and analytics

If you say yes, we use Google Analytics to count visits and see which pages are useful. It sets cookies and sends Google your browser details, the pages you look at and an approximate location based on your IP address. We don't use it for advertising. If you say no, Google Analytics isn't loaded at all.

Your choice is saved in your browser. You can change it at any time with "Cookie settings" at the bottom of every page.

Some features use a cookie of their own because they need it to work: the vote for where we go next remembers your vote, and signing in to edit content remembers that you're signing in.
